NPCK participated in an agriculture stakeholders’ workshop that took place on 26th September 2019 in Nairobi. The workshop was as a result of the need by Agriculture Stakeholders to create an umbrella body for the entire agricultural sector in Kenya in order to have a more unified and stronger voice. The umbrella body is called Kenya Agricultural Federation (KAfe) and is intended to be a platform where all the agricultural sector stakeholders can advance the sector policy agenda in an integrated and collaborative manner. Currently, there is a committee in place that is overseeing the formation process of the body. KAfe is envisioned to effectively partner with the National and County Governments.
The workshop was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries (MoALF) with support from partner organizations; Elgon Kenya Limited, Kenya Camel Association and Business Advocacy Fund. The workshop was conducted through panel discussions and keynote presentations from Council of Governors, MoALF, Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Farm Concern.
