Availability, access and affordability of quality certified seed potato remains a major problem in the potato subsector. It is in this regard that the KEPHIS convened a meeting on 8th October 2019 to discuss new technologies such as apical cuttings, tissue culture and aeroponics. Organizations present included Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT), Stokman Rozen Kenya Ltd, Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), county government representatives and NPCK among others. KEPHIS expressed its commitment to help build the capacity of seed producers in order to enable them venture into the new technologies so as to increase seed potato in the country.
