Participants during the stakeholders’ validation meeting at ATC Wambugu farm, Nyeri County

The department of Agriculture, Livestock Fisheries and Cooperatives from the County Government of Nyeri together with NPCK convened a stakeholders’ validation forum for the draft Nyeri County Potato Strategy on 14^th October 2020 in Nyeri County. Other participants in the validation forum included Vision Fund Kenya, KALRO, agricultural committee of county assembly, farmers, traders and transporters. The draft strategy was developed with the aim of harmonizing activities of all players and to provide clear road map on how to develop the subsector. A second validation will be done later in the year before approval. It is expected that the implementation of the strategy will go a long way in improving the value chain in the county.
