Kenya Airways Confirmed as Official Airline Partner for WPC 2026.

In a significant milestone for the upcoming World Potato Congress 2026, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) met with Kenya Airways leadership on 18 February 2026 at the airline’s Head Office to formalize a partnership that will see the Pride of Africa serve as the official airline for the event.

The meeting agreed on a united front, with Kenya Airways committing to support WPC 2026 as the Official Airline Partner. As a leading African carrier flying to over 40 destinations worldwide, many in countries from which delegates are expected, the partnership represents a natural strategic alignment.

Beyond logistics, the partnership positions Kenya Airways alongside national food security and agricultural export priorities, connecting global agribusiness to Africa and beyond.

The LOC, comprising WPC 2026 Chair Wachira Kaguongo, Dr Kimani Rugendo, and Programme Chair Dr Dinah Borus, expressed gratitude to Mr Thairu (Chief Commercial and Customer Officer), Martin Gitonga (General Manager, Digital, Brand and Marketing), and Henry Okatch (Head of Corporate Communication) from Kenya Airways for their engagement.

The LOC also acknowledged early commitments from FIPS Africa, Cooperative Bank, and Kuku Foods (KFC), and expressed confidence that further national institutions, both public and private, will join this coalition as preparations intensify.
