The 13th World Potato Congress (WPC) Kenya 2026 is set to bring together the global potato community in Naivasha from 26–30 October 2026, with delegates from 62 countries already registered for the landmark Congress, the first WPC to be hosted in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Held under the theme Global Potato Partnership for Enhanced Food Systems, Nutrition Security, and Trade, the Congress will provide a platform for stakeholders across the potato value chain to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations and build partnerships aimed at advancing the sector.
The programme will feature scientific and industry sessions covering key areas including innovation, seed systems, climate resilience, food security and trade.
Participants will also have opportunities to engage with international experts, industry leaders, researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders from across the global potato community.
To help delegates plan their participation, the WPC 2026 interactive programme is now available online here: https://wpc2026kenya.com/interactive-program/
Participants can browse sessions, view speaker profiles and presentation abstracts, and favourite sessions they would like to attend during the Congress.
A key highlight will be the Farmer Field Day, which is expected to bring together more than 1,500 farmers and delegates. The event will provide an opportunity for participants to experience practical demonstrations and engage with farmers and partners on potato production, technologies and innovations. Technical tours will also offer practical exposure to potato value-chain activities.
With the Congress now only weeks away, organizers are making a final call to organizations seeking to participate through partnerships and visibility opportunities. Only one exhibition stand remains, while other partnership opportunities are still available.
Organizations interested in securing visibility and participation at WPC 2026 are encouraged to confirm their bookings to ensure inclusion in Congress materials and receive full recognition during the event.
The Congress is expected to provide an important platform for strengthening international collaboration and advancing solutions for a more productive, resilient and sustainable potato sector.
