The National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK), through the Kenya Sustainable Potato Initiative (KSPI) funded by AGRA, participated in the Kaimosi Agricultural Expo held on 7th August 2026, showcasing sustainable potato production technologies to farmers and other stakeholders.
The event brought together more than 3,000 farmers and over 150 exhibitors from across the agricultural sector. It was graced by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, alongside other dignitaries from the government and private sector.
Various agricultural innovations and technologies were showcased during the Expo, giving farmers an opportunity to learn about improved practices and technologies aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity.
The event also saw the signing of key partnerships. The Food and Agriculture Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kaimosi Agricultural Training Centre (ATC) on the development of a competency-based agroecology curriculum and training packages at the institution.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institution of Coffee Seed Production.
NPCK’s participation formed part of efforts to promote sustainable potato production technologies and connect farmers with innovations that can support improved productivity across the potato value chain.
