The National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK) participated in AGRA@20 celebrations on 31 August, showcasing the impact generated through the Kenya Sustainable Potato Initiative (KSPI) and other past projects supported by AGRA.

The event brought together farmers, governments, financiers and private-sector partners to celebrate 20 years of AGRA’s work with African smallholder farmers. The forum also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on the progress made, share lessons learned and explore opportunities for the future of agriculture on the continent.

Held under the theme, “When Farmers Prosper, Africa Prospers,” the event highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships and investments in strengthening agricultural systems and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Through its participation, NPCK demonstrated the role of collaborative initiatives such as KSPI in supporting the development of Kenya’s potato value chain. The initiative has contributed to efforts aimed at improving potato production and strengthening the sector through partnerships and innovation.

The AGRA@20 forum underscored the importance of continued collaboration among governments, development partners, the private sector and farmers in building productive and resilient agricultural communities across Africa.
