The State Department for Trade and Enterprise Development with support from UNECA has developed a draft National AfCFTA implementation strategy. AfCFTA stands for African Continental Free Trade Area The main purpose of the National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy was to boost trade and investment in Kenya.

A private sector sensitization workshop on AfCFTA was held on 28th June 2022, in Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The main objective of the workshop was to enable stakeholders in Kenya to understand the benefit of implementing the Kenyan AfCFTA strategy. The workshop enabled stakeholders to have an in-depth understanding of the AfCFTA strategy including the role of AfCFTA in transforming Kenya’s Economy, and the status of AfCFTA negotiations. The participants recommended that sensitization on AfCFTA strategy should be cascaded to the grassroots.
