The department of Agriculture of the County Government of Nyeri in conjunction with NPCK under the support of ASDSP and KCSAP convened a meeting on 23rd September 2020 in Nyeri with a goal of sensitizing members of the County Assembly on the draft County Potato Strategy and seek their support on its budget. The draft strategy has been developed by the county, ASDSP, KCSAP and NPCK to help in addressing challenges facing the value chain, promote better coordination and utilize untapped opportunities in the county. At the meeting, it was resolved that there should be a validation forum held where more stakeholders give their input on the document. Once the document is ready and the strategy is implemented, it is expected that the productivity of the potato value chain will improve in the county.
