Kevian Kenya Group has established a tissue culture lab at our Hanna Roses farm in Muranga County off Gatanga road. We source our certified Invitros from KEPHIS Muguga and carry out multiplication at our Tissue Culture lab located at Hanna Roses (part of Kevian Group). We acclimatize the plantlets in our screen house for a period of 3 weeks, getting 2-3 apical cuttings per plant. Transfer the material to our ‘Aeroponics’ and/or our ‘Hydroponics’ units for tuber generation.
We carried out our in-house demo, to assess the viability of our apical cuttings at our demo site in Muranga for Kenya Karibu, Shangi, Sherekea and Ram varieties.
A sample of one plant of Kenya Karibu variety under our drip irrigation system produced 143 tubers as shown below:

Variety: Kenya Karibu
D.O.P: 17/04/2022
Tubers Achieved per plant: 143 tubers.
