December is not only a moment to pause and celebrate but to also account for impact throughout the year.
Over the past quarter, our work has focused on strengthening the potato sector through platforms that connect knowledge, innovation, and people. Regional and international engagements this year demonstrated the power of convening not as an end in itself, but as a catalyst for collaboration, learning, and sector-wide progress. These moments brought visibility to the crop’s growing importance in food security, nutrition, and economic resilience.
At the same time, evidence-driven insights and practical innovations continued to inform our approach, ensuring that what is shared, showcased, and scaled is grounded in substance. This alignment between action and knowledge has allowed us to move beyond conversation toward outcomes that matter.
As the year comes to a close, this issue captures a sector in motion—from regional engagement, to global recognition, and toward an even more ambitious milestone ahead. With the World Potato Congress on the horizon, the foundation laid this year positions Kenya and the region to play a stronger role in shaping global dialogue, investment, and innovation in the potato industry.
The work ahead is significant—but so is the momentum. We enter the new year focused, confident, and ready to lead.
